TEMPORARY POLICIES & PROCEDURES
- Friends and family are not permitted to wait in the reception area unless they are the client’s legal guardian.
- Upon entry to BLU, we will check the temperature of each guest. We are doing this as a precaution for your safety and the safety of our team.
- All guests are required to wear a face mask during their visit.
- When you enter, please use our hand sanitizer at the front entrance. If you are getting a manicure we ask that you wash your hands for 20 seconds in the restroom before your service.
- We will not serve beverages at this time. However, you may bring your own drink with you.
- We will stagger services to decrease the number of people in our reception area. To prevent traffic build-up, our coordinators may ask you for payment prior to your service or while you are processing color.
- Our new credit card processors will significantly reduce contact at check-out.
- We installed Plexiglass shields at our manicure stations and reception desk.
- All staff will be screened prior to their shift. This includes a temperature check and health assessment.
- It is mandatory for all employees to wear face coverings. Anyone who is feeling sick is asked to stay home.
- Updated cleaning protocols will take place in all departments.

Q: Do I have to be a Universal member to use BLU Spa & Salon?
A: Great news, you do not! We are also open to the general public.
Q: Do I need an appointment?
A: Although we welcome walk-ins, we always recommend making an appointment to ensure you are able to get the service, appointment time and provider of your choice.

Q: Can my kids play in the Universal Kidz Klub during my service?

Q: Do you accept Gift Cards?
A: Yes! We accept both BLU gift cards and Universal Athletic Club gift cards.
Q: How much are your haircuts?
A: The prices vary depending on the level of experience of your stylist. Please call us at 717-569-6400 or for a brief consultation prior to your service, and we can match you with the best stylist to fit your needs.
Q: What is the difference between a basic/regular manicure/pedicure and a spa or luxury manicure/pedicure?
A: The basic mani/pedi includes, filing, pushing back cuticles, light massage and polish. The spa mani/pedi includes everything in the basic plus a scrub, mask and more massage. The luxury includes everything in the spa plus a paraffin treatment.
Q: What is the difference in sugaring and waxing?
A: These are both methods of hair removal. With both, the hair must be at least a 1⁄4 inch long, which is about 2 weeks of growth. The sugaring is a more natural product, even edible! Sugaring tends to last a little bit longer than waxing but both last about 4-6 weeks. Most people say that sugaring is more gentle on the skin which tends to feel a little more comfortable.
Q: What is Dazzle Dry?
A: Dazzle Dry is a gel alternative polish which is vegan and does not need to be cured with a light and can be removed with regular nail polish remover, dries rock hard in 5 minutes and last about 14 days.
Q: What is Balayage?
A: Balayage is a French word that means to sweep or paint. As a highlighting technique, this results in very natural looking, sun-kissed hair!
Q: Does BLU have a cancellation policy?
A: Yes, we ask that you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment so that we have an opportunity to offer the available service to another client. A credit card is required to hold your scheduled spa appointment or any service requiring 90 minutes or more of scheduled time.
We will not charge your credit card as long as you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled time with us. In the event that you do not cancel within 24 hours, your card will be charged 50% of your scheduled service(s).
